Bali Indonesia airport arrival guide
Here's an arrival guide for Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS):
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE:
1. Passport validity:
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your entry date and have one blank page for a visa.
2. Visa:
Many nationalities, including US citizens, can obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA), valid for 30 days and extendable once for another 30 days. You can get a VOA at the airport or apply online for an e-VOA up to 14 days before your trip (but no later than 48 hours before departure).
For stays longer than 60 days, you'll need to apply for a different visa at an Indonesian embassy or consulate before arrival.
Applying online for your Visa:
For Indonesia you will need to do the following:

Complete the SatuSehat Health Pass (SSHP) health declaration form online up to 3 days before arrival via the following website:

You'll receive a QR code to show at the airport.
4. CUSTOMS DECLARATION:
Every passenger or crew member of a means of transport arriving from abroad is required to fill out a Customs Declaration (CD), which currently can be filled out in a paperless manner, namely the Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD) via the link below:

You can fill in the Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD) 2 days before your arrival date in Indonesia and it is known that the ECD is now connected to the IMEI Registration service. YOU ONLY NEED TO REGISTER OR DECLARE YOUR CELL PHONE IF YOU ARE STAYING LONGER THAN 6 MONTHS.
The following are the requirements for completing the Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD):
1. Passport.
2. Email address.
3. Ticket or boarding pass.
4. Supporting documents related to your luggage in accordance with applicable regulations such as invoices, packing lists, doctor's certificates and others.
Key points to remember:
Time Limit: The e-CD form can be submitted up to 3 days before your arrival in Bali.
One Form Per Family: Only one form needs to be completed per family traveling together.
No Fee: There is no fee for completing the e-CD form.
Health Declaration: In addition to the customs declaration, travelers may also need to complete a health declaration form depending on current health protocols.
Visa Requirements: Ensure you have the correct visa or visa exemption for your travel purpose and duration.
Avoid Delays: Submitting the e-CD form in advance can help expedite the entry process and avoid potential delays at the airport.
Fill in correctly and according to the steps provided until you get a QR Code. The QR code from the filling results will appear in your email or can be downloaded directly to be shown to Customs and Excise officers in the Customs Area.
By following the above steps, you will be able to use the AUTO GATE or FASTTRACK LANES (scanners that scan your passport and take your picture for immigration/entry into the country) without going through the long traditional immigration lines for entry into Bali.
INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL GUIDE
1. Upon arrival at the arrival terminal, follow the “IMMIGRATION” signage to go to the IMMIGRATION checkpoint
2. Before heading to the immigration area, you will pass through the health quarantine area, make sure you have filled out the SATUSEHAT Health Pass via the website https://sshp.kemkes.go.id/
3. Carry out the IMMIGRATION Process (VOA (Visa On Arrival) Guide can be seen in VISA ON ARRIVAL)
4. After the Immigration Process, you can go to the baggage claim area, check the information screen on the conveyor belt according to your flight.
5. If you lose your baggage, you can contact the airline staff at the Lost and Found counter.
6. Trolley facilities are available in the baggage claim area.
7. If necessary, you can use the services of a porter to help carry your luggage, at a rate of IDR 10,000 or 0.65 cents per package.
8. Please remember your porter number and report any unexpected incidents
9. Carrying out Customs and Excise Process

Bali Tourist Levy: Pay the tourist levy (around IDR 150,000, approx. $9.30 USD). You can do this online in advance via the Love Bali app.
Other:
Consider travel insurance.
Pre-arrange your airport transfer to your accommodation for convenience. GRAB APP is a good app to download. It is a rideshare app equivalent to UBER.
Consider getting an e-SIM or local SIM card for easier communication.
UPON ARRIVAL:

Immigration:
E-VOA (electronic visa on arrival) Holders: Head directly to the e-gates for faster processing by scanning your e-VOA QR code.
VOA Applicants:
Proceed to the VOA counter to purchase your visa and then to the immigration counter.
Baggage Claim:
Proceed to the baggage claim area to retrieve your luggage.
Customs:
Show the QR code from your e-customs declaration form to the customs officers.
Arrivals Hall:
After clearing customs, you will enter the arrivals hall.
Getting to your accommodation:
If you have arranged a private transfer, your driver will be waiting.
Official taxis are available, but pre-booking may be cheaper or using a ride sharing app such as GRAB may be best.
Money changers and ATMs are available in the arrivals hall.
Important Notes:
Carry some cash in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for small expenses.
While US dollars are accepted in many places, paying in IDR is generally recommended for better rates.
Be aware of customs regulations regarding alcohol (1 liter limit), tobacco (limits apply), and other items.
Indonesia has strict drug laws, including the death penalty for drug offenses.
